The first conference of Regional Studies Association (RSA) in Russia took place on October 24-25 within the Forum..

The conference was attended by famous Russian and foreign scientists in the field of regional and urban economics, spatial econometrics, planning, regional economic policy and management. The conference attracted researchers from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, China, Kazakhstan as well as Russian scientists - representatives of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk academic schools. RSA Conference partners became ICSER Leontief Centre and the Russian Geographical Society (Commission for Territorial Organization and Planning). During the presentations it were discussed challenges on spatial economic analysis and investments, strategic and territorial planning, sustainable development and SMART specialization, formation of clusters and industrial policy, urban and regional aspects of the theory of imperfect markets and monopolistic competition, housing market, urbanization and development of urban areas. The conference attracted a great interest and was warmly appreciated by the participants. During the conference it was taken a decision to create the  Russian branch of RSA and make a partnership between RSA and Russian Geographical Society.
