     Dear Friends!       

   I am glad to welcome the participants and guests of Jubilee XV All-Russia Forum "Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia" in Saint Petersburg!

   It is remarkable to hold such a large-scale and representative Forum here in our city. The most important challenges of strategic development of the regions have discussed at the Forum for fifteen years. Saint Petersburg – is a leading city in strategic planning.  The city was originally built as planned and now it is living and developing according to scientifically based and realistic programmes.

 This year at the Forum it will be held a discussion "Building Alignment Through Dialogue".   The sustainable development of Russia and effective solutions to common social and economic goals can be reached only by coordinated actions between government, business and society. The direct dialogue is necessary for the alignment and balance of the goals including resources provision.

  New economic challenges set the goal to update the scenarios and target values of Saint Petersburg development that were put behind the Strategy-2030. In this context Forum is the expert platform to our city where other regions have a great opportunity to share the best management practices.

  I am sure that friendly and creative Forum atmosphere will support to find the best ways to get the economy of Russia on the path of sustainable development, to enhance the interregional cooperation and improve the quality of life.
